Fees

Last Updated: 19 January 2026

The following are fees charged by the scissors.fun platform when you use the scissors.fun platform. Our unique ATH Tax mechanism is designed to discourage selling at all-time highs by routing taxed tokens into a treasury reserve.

ATH Tax — The Core Mechanic

When you sell tokens at or near the All-Time High price (within 1% of ATH), a 10% tax is applied to the tokens being sold. These tokens are sent to the treasury reserve.

This mechanism "cuts the paper hands" by reducing the tokens sold into the curve at ATH.

Platform Fees

Trading fee (buy & sell)1.25%
ATH Tax (sell at ATH only)10%
Graduation to DEX*~0.02 SOL

*Graduation fee is taken from the liquidity when a coin graduates from the bonding curve (~85 SOL threshold). This covers network fees and does not require additional payment from users.

How the ATH Tax Works

1

Detection: When you sell, the smart contract checks if the current price is within 1% of the all-time high virtual SOL reserves.

2

Tax Collection: If selling at ATH, 10% of the tokens you're selling are sent to the treasury account instead of being burned/sold.

3

Treasury Reserve: Treasury tokens accumulate in a program-derived account for the token.

Fee Distribution

On every trade, the creator of the coin receives a portion of the fees. This is referred to as the "Creator Fee". The remaining fee goes to the scissors.fun platform ("Protocol Fee").

Fee TypeCreator FeeProtocol FeeTotal Fee
Trading Fee (buy & sell)0.25%1%1.25%
ATH Tax (10%)0%0%→ Treasury

💰 Creator Earnings: As a token creator, you earn 0.25% on every buy and sell transaction of your token. This incentivizes creators to build engaged communities and drive trading activity.

Example Calculation

Scenario: Selling 1,000,000 tokens at ATH

Tokens to sell: 1,000,000

ATH Tax (10%): -100,000 tokens → Treasury

Tokens actually sold: 900,000

Trading fee (1.25%): -1.25% of SOL received

├ Creator: 0.25%

└ Protocol: 1%

You receive: SOL from 900,000 tokens minus 1.25% fee

Important Notes

  • • The ATH Tax only applies when selling at or near the all-time high — normal sells are not affected.
  • • ATH is tracked per-token via the bonding curve's virtual SOL reserves.
  • • ATH tax tokens accumulate in the treasury reserve; the trade itself does not execute a market buyback.
  • • These fees do not include Solana network fees (gas), which vary based on network conditions.
  • • Fees are determined by the on-chain smart contract and may differ slightly from displayed estimates.
  • • The scissors.fun platform may update these fees at any time.

Why ATH Tax?

❌ Without ATH Tax

  • • Whales dump at ATH
  • • Price crashes immediately
  • • No recovery mechanism
  • • Community loses confidence

✓ With ATH Tax

  • • Discourages ATH dumps
  • • Treasury accumulates tokens
  • • Treasury accumulates ATH-taxed tokens
  • • Healthier price action

No Hidden Fees

The scissors.fun web application does not charge any fees beyond those listed above. If you access scissors.fun smart contracts via another interface or platform, you may incur additional fees charged by those interfaces. Always verify fees before confirming transactions.
